A practical guide

Prepare clear screenshots for a product launch

A launch screenshot has a job: help someone understand a specific benefit or change. More decoration is not always more useful. Start with the message, then make the image support it.

1. Choose the single thing to show

Write a short sentence explaining what the image should communicate. Capture the state that demonstrates that point. Close unrelated panels and use sample content where possible. If you need to explain several separate steps, use a short sequence of images rather than crowding everything into one.

2. Remove private information before sharing

Check names, email addresses, browser tabs, account identifiers and notifications. Prefer capturing with dummy data. If you use blur or another annotation, inspect the exported image carefully and make sure the original file is not accidentally included in what you share.

3. Add framing with a purpose

In Snazz, you can choose a background, spacing and a browser or macOS-style frame. Keep enough contrast around the screenshot to separate it from the page where it will appear. A strong background should not compete with the feature you are trying to show.

4. Use one clear visual cue

An arrow, label or highlight should answer where to look. Avoid repeating the same explanation in several annotations. If the interface text is essential, make sure it remains readable after the image is scaled down for a social post or documentation page.

5. Check the final PNG

Export from Snazz and inspect the actual file at its intended display size. Look for cut-off edges, unreadable labels and any sensitive details you missed. Keep the original capture separately if you expect to make another version later.
